Re-issued – F&C Brewcast S1E8 (2020): Authors Mark Charles and Dr. Soong-Chan Rah on the Doctrine of Discovery

Mark Charles (left) and Soong-Chan Rah (middle), co-authors of the book Unsettling Truths: The Ongoing Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery (right).

University Presbyterian Church in Tempe, Arizona, is exploring the Doctrine of Discovery. Last year I had the opportunity to talk on the Brewcast with Mark Charles and Dr. Soong-Chan Rah, co-authors of the book Unsettling Truths: The Ongoing Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery, available at your local bookstore.

Mark is a man of Navajo and Dutch American decent, a speaker and writer for Native concerns.

Soong-Chan is the Milton B. Engebretson Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. It was an honor and a serious education to speak with these two and read their book.

  1. Deep! The bottom line truth is the European “Christian” wants to remain the exclusive voice of the bible and maintain control. Its all about the money. These very so called Christians follow American Western Christianity made up by white men, and not Biblical Christianity. Again, its all about control. Yet they will progressively die out. Thank God.
